What to Expect When You're Inspecting
SCHEDULING INSPECTION
Once you are under contract, one of the first things
you'll want to do is schedule your home inspection.
We can provide you with recommendations on
inspectors we know and trust, or you are free to find
your own. The inspector's job is to uncover any
issues the home may have, and they will provide a
detailed report summarizing their findings.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN A GENERAL INSPECTION?
The inspector will take a detailed look at the following systems and components:
- Heating and A/C
- Roofing
- Electrical
- Plumbing
- Exterior
- Structure
- Insulation
- Interior Rooms
- Appliances
- Crawlspace / Basement
- Garage
- Fireplaces
We also recommend getting the home tested for radon, and completing a sewer
scope. These can both be added on to your general inspection.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
We will go over your inspection report in detail, look for any major health or safety-
related items you would like the seller to fix, and prepare an Inspection Objection.
We then work towards an Inspection Resolution that everyone is happy with, or you
can choose to terminate the contract if there are too many issues.
